The name Blue Lace Agate comes from the beautiful white lines that cut across the sky blue stone and create a lace-like pattern. Blue Lace Agate is one of the rarest crystals on the planet because it is only found in one mine in Namibia. It was discovered in 1962 by American prospector George Swanson and was mined by hand until 1977.

This spectacular pendant feature a gorgeous cut of Blue Lace Agate encased in 925 Sterling Silver. Both Cab and Wrap are done by hand, the wrap  using a cold forge technique.

GEM INFO:  Geode Druzy is a tiny quartz crystal that is formed either on the surface or within other stones. The formation of this beguiling nugget is natural and happens when water carries dissolved particles of  Silica is forced into porous rock, and rapid cooling takes place, forming the tiny crystals named as DruzyDruse. The entire process can take millions of years and each Agate piece is unique!

The word ‘Geode’ is invented from the Greek term that means ‘shape of the Mother Earth.' Geode Druzy got its name due to its natural and circular Earth-like formations. However, most of them occur in the oblong shape as in this particular piece. Often known to be extracted from all around the globe, it is mostly rooted out from the desert and volcanic regions. Abundantly they are found in the regions of the America such as California, Illinois, Utah and Iowa in addition to Nevada, Arizona, Missouri and Kentucky.. The clarity of the stone is marked according to the type of the gem present within it.

The stone is Approx. 2 inch in length and 1 1/4 inches in width.

About the Stone: In ancient times Lapis Lazuli was most highly regarded because of its beautiful color and the valuable ultramarine dye derived from it. Its name comes from the Latin lapis, "stone," and the Persian lazhuward, "blue." It is rock formed by multiple minerals, mostly Lazurite, Sodalite, Calcite and Pyrite, and is a rich medium to royal blue with gold flecks (pyrites). Lapis Lazuli was among the most highly prized tribute paid to Egypt, obtained from the oldest mines in the world, worked from around 4000 B.C. and still in use today. Referenced in the Old Testament as sapphire (unknown in that part of the ancient world), Lapis Lazuli is most likely the fifth stone in the original breastplate of the High Priest, as well as those of later times.
